Philly Music Factory is excited to announce our Professional Music Camp. Philly Music Factory is a network organization connected to MoveMakers Philly, Martial Posture and After School who have been offering summer camps, combined, for over 20 years in Center City, Philadelphia. We are proud to expand our offering to include the advanced music summer camp.
The Professional Music Camp is designed for the intermediate/advanced student who is looking to develop their skills, and take a closer look at what it’s like to be a professional. The PMC is focused on developing musicianship and instrumental proficiency, while fostering collaboration and creativity. Under the guidance of professionals, the students will create their own band, write, arrange, rehearse, and perform their own music. Through hands-on experience directing and collaborating, students will not only develop their musicianship, but also enhance their communication and critical thinking skills. At the end of the program we hope to have arranged and composed one to three original songs as a band, the group will then choose one that will be recorded and released on to our website. During that process, a masterclass with a skilled music producer will introduce the participants to various recording techniques and programs. The participants will also be invited to PMF’s monthly Free Range concert. On the day of the show, an artist who will be performing in that concert will conduct a masterclass just for the participants. PMF’s Professional Music Program is a one of a kind experience to learn from artists on the Philadelphia Scene, and get a glimpse into what its like to be a professional.
