Class Information: 

Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments. However, there are guitars to use at the studio if it is your preference. 

This program is best for beginners learning acoustic guitar.

 

Zero Experience Description:

This is for students who have not played guitar, or folks who haven’t played for a very long time. Moustapha will help you start your guitar journey. 

 

A lil’ Experience:

 

Criteria for students

• Familiarity with Open Chords

• Know 2 songs

• Ready to learn bar chords and riffs

• Know more than 1 strumming pattern 

 

Logistical Information:

The class runs every Monday for 8 weeks, from March 30th - May 19th from 6:00-7:00 PM (no experience) and 7:15-8:15pm (a lil’ experience) at the 2100 Chestnut, 2nd floor. 

 

The entrance to Philly Music Factory is on 21st street between Chestnut and Sansom, in between Damo and Monde Market. Go upstairs, turn left and through the first red door on your left (the lobby). Moustapha will be in the lobby to greet you on your first day. 

 

If you think that you will miss more than two classes, leave the season early, or you cannot arrive consistently on time, we encourage you to sign up when your schedule allows. While it is normal that people get sick and things come up, we want to keep our musical momentum. 

 

Payment:

 

The cost for the entire series is $176; students may pay up front in one installment or in two installments ($88 per payment, 2nd payment on 4/27). For individuals selecting the two installment option, please note that the expectation is that you will complete the full series. The two pay option does not mean the series is divided into two parts. This option is in place to provide participants the option to split payments. Our policy for two installments is that all participants are responsible for the second payment.   For all participants, payments are non-refundable; there is a 30-day cancellation policy and a $50 cancellation fee.
