Learn guitar through familiar music that makes you want to play.

Moustapha's Adult Group Guitar classes offer a welcoming, practical approach to developing guitar skills through songs that feel recognizable and engaging. Students build chords, rhythm, riffs, coordination and technique while learning music they can connect with and enjoy playing.

Rather than learning skills only as isolated exercises, students put them to use in actual songs. The goal is to make learning guitar musical from the beginning while building a foundation that can carry into many styles of music.

Classes are organized by experience level, giving new players a comfortable place to start and returning or developing guitarists room to keep progressing.

Classes:
Mondays at Philly Music Factory, 2100 Chestnut Street

6:00–7:00 PM — Zero Experience
7:15–8:15 PM — A Lil' Experience
8:30–9:30 PM — A Lil' More Experience — interest-based for now

Zero Experience (6:00-7:00pm)

For complete beginners or anyone looking for a fresh start with the fundamentals.

No previous guitar experience is required.

Students learn basic chords, rhythm, coordination and simple song structures while beginning to play recognizable music. The focus is on establishing strong fundamentals without losing the enjoyment of actually making music.

A Lil' Experience (7:15-8:15pm)

For students who already have some familiarity with guitar and are ready to build on the basics.

This is a good fit for players who know some open chords, can play portions of songs and have experience with basic strumming.

Students develop smoother chord changes, stronger rhythm, riffs, expanded chord vocabulary and the ability to play more complete songs with confidence.

A Lil' More Experience (8:30-9:30pm)

For developing guitarists with a stronger foundation who are ready for more challenging material.

Students expand their chord and rhythmic vocabulary, work with more involved riffs and song arrangements, and develop greater fluency moving between different techniques.

The emphasis remains on learning through music people recognize and enjoy, while helping students become increasingly capable and independent guitar players.

Registration

6-week series: $132

Participants may pay in full or in two installments of $66.

The two-payment option allows participants to split the cost of the complete series. It does not divide the course into separate sessions; participants choosing installments are registering for the entire six-week series.

Need a guitar?

Students are encouraged to bring their own instrument.

A limited number of guitars are available to reserve for onsite use throughout the series for an additional $40. Reserved PMF guitars remain onsite and cannot be taken home.
